- The 2011 Volvo C30 T5 and C30 T5 R-Design will be priced at $25,450 and $27,800 respectively, the automaker announced today.
- Both utilize a 227-hp turbocharged five-cylinder motor mated to a six-speed manual transmission. For 2011, they also get a redesigned front clip with new nose, fenders, grille, headlights, and spoiler. An extra-large Volvo iron mark is included in the mix, while additional body-colored trim can be found throughout its exterior.Performance buffs should take notice of the new R-Design edition wearing a new aggressive aerodynamic kit, a 10-mm. lower ride height, and 18-in. wheels. Power from the five-banger remains the same, but engineers were diligent in their tuning of the car's suspension bits. Stiffer bushings, 30% stiffer springs, and stiffer roll bars aid handling feel. A 10% quicker steering ratio allows for better turn in and response.

New 2011 Volvo S60, Future Cars, LED Lights, Comfortable, Portable Navigation.
Volvo S60, which ended the Swedish car square, walk one step further with the second generation S60 in 2011 and added a lot of technology. This sleeker S60 has a traditional grille surrounded by Volvo lower new details and LED lights. leading shoulder running end to end, narrow roof pillars and a lower center of gravity, visual, and sweeping roofline to the tail lights. This S60 has a sloping rear doors open a lot like others insisted on calling the car a four door coupe, the car but all-new 2011 S60 so high that rear headroom is not compromised.
Less than an inch longer but still the standard by the American compact sedan, 2011 Volvo S60 wheelbase grew by nearly 2.5 inches for improvement, significant received in rear seat legroom. Contemporary comfort, safety features and structures have added approximately 400 pounds.
Initially U.S. Volvo S60 models will come only with a turbocharged 3-liter inline six-cylinder engine, a revision of the XC90 (and similar to the inline-5 from the previous S60 T5). With 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque from 2100 rpm the new engine should offer improved performance despite the extra weight of the car. A six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive will be standard on 2011 models. We anticipate the 200-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with a choice of gearboxes will be offered later, but that, of course, speculation on our side.

The Volvo S40 is a very good car. You perhaps do not expect the Swedish market to make sporty cars, so the S40's nimble nature is refreshing. Yet while it's neat and tidy most of the time, the car loses composure when pushed - the steering becomes vague and the chassis is not as fluid and precise as some rivals. Mid-corner bumps also upset the composure and control of the chassis. The ride is not particularly well damped and tends to get the jitters on potholed tarmac. Ford-derived diesels may seem humble but the 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter units are nothing to be ashamed of. Petrol units are OK too and the 2.4-liter five-pot is a classy-sounding addition to the good-looking saloon car. There's also a 2.4-liter five-pot diesel mated to an automatic gearbox, compact saloon for real muscle.
The S40 is a slightly strange car. Volvo say it has been designed to battle with the Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series, but the saloon bodystyle pushes it into the compact executive sector - competing with the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and ... the Volvo S60! It only comes as a saloon, with the V50 estate being essentially an S40 load lugger. A simple model line-up offers good equipment levels in all guises, it's hard to fault the S40's standard equipment. It's based on a variant of the Ford Focus platform but Volvo has tuned it well to offer a grown-up feel fantastic and crash safety. We particularly like the sporty-look R-Design variants, with unique and racy trim, plus sportier suspension. It's the highlight of an extensive, and slightly confusing, line-up of engines and trims.
The S40's square, clean-cut lines are unmistakably Volvo, while the interior, with its' floating 'center console, is very impressive indeed. The layout is simple, clear and Instrumentation the soft, well-padded driver's seat is widely adjustable. It's a fuss free layout - although unfortunately, it's not flawless. The door pockets are far too small and there's no off-clutch footrest. In the back, there's a marked lack of headroom, due to the dipping roofline, while the rear doors are pretty small as well. However, legroom is adequate, and the Fold-flat front passenger seat gives the Volvo's versatility a boost. It's a shame load-carrying ability is so disappointing with the Folding seats in place, as the only boot offers 357 liters and the APERTURE is too small. Economical engines and low insurance ratings look good alongside premium rivals, while the S40's retained values are currently Superb. The Swedish company even offers a low-cost Service Plan.

For the last two days I've heard a lot of things about the new Volvo XC90. AutoMotorSport in Sweden announced yesterday that the second generation XC90 is no longer under development though Volvo plans to launch it before the end of 2009. I knew there's something ollyolivia so I waited to see what are the responses to such news, it did not and they took long to have them.
Apparently Volvo replied to AMS Sweden, that the next generation XC90 has not been canceled and that they are working on a facelift right now. However they did not include any dates in their response so we'll just have to assume that it will use a Ford platform, and unless they will bring lower fuel consumption and a hybrid version (they did not mention all these) they better not launch anything.

All the luxury carmakers' are each taking their place and drawing the proverbial line in the sand as they compete against each other in the 'four-door-coupe' segment. Has the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS has the Volvo and now has put out renderings for the Volvo SC90. It's a futuristic-premium four-door coupe. The designer is Nouphone J. Bansasine who designed the car during his internship at Volvo in 2007. It was the summer of that year when Volvo asked him to start working on a new elite models for the automaker. No word yet on if the car will go into production.

While the five-speed adaptive Geartronic (translation - Volvo automatic with manual shift capability) will have you arriving at the 100km / h mark in 8.4 seconds, the D5 with a six-speed manual box lifts the torque figure to a whopping 400Nm, ( in showrooms by April this year) and will fast track that time to just 7.7 seconds.
For the uninitiated, it will be difficult for them to pick this model as a diesel (at least from inside the Cabin) but small for the D5 badge at the rear. It's not that the engine is quiet. It's not. Volvo's five cylinder engine produces what I call the "Volvo growl", which lets you know there's a little bit of anger under the Bonnet, should you need to make a point.
